Nagle Notes: Sleep

Hello people of the future,

I am writing this post not for a younger me who would get some use out of it. This is my attempt to incite positive values for others. Sleep is important, I’m sure you’ve heard it so many times it’s cliché now. But our unhealthy tethering to smartphones disrupts it beyond what you believe.

Most of y’all probably have night mode turn on whenever it’s nighttime and have heard of the issues from blue light on sleep. But having a phone simply in bed has so many more problems. For those who want more scientific research as to why they shouldn’t be on their phone right before bed and even charge it next to them, the National Sleep Foundation recommends 30 minutes of separation from your device before bed.

Do 5 minutes separation or charge it at your desk instead of your nightstand. We did 6 feet away from people for a year, you can do 6 feet from your device for 8 hours.

Onwards,
Nagle
