Nagle Notes: Bicycles
Hello Friends,
This week’s email has been spurred by an article with an interesting premise. From memory, draw a bicycle. Seems easy? Well, it’s a little harder than you realize. There’s a complexity that our brains dismiss. Not because it isn’t important (half the bikes in the article would not work if created) but because your brain can’t take all that information for everything and store it. It would overload all your memory. Sometimes it’s okay to take a shortcut if it saves time and doesn’t impact anyone, like not perfectly remembering a bike. Other times we need to relearn with open eyes because an assumption can be destructive too.
As a bonus, try to draw a penny. Which way does Abe Lincoln face?
Onwards,
Nagle
