Nagle Notes: Short-hand Language

Hello friends,

Hollywood is the media capital of the world. Everyone who wants to ‘make it big’ flock to it for the promise of success. Not only actors but directors, musicians, writers too. Really anyone who wants to create for the public. Yet, there is a whole world behind what we see. I stumbled on an Adam Savage video that touched this idea. Something that stood out was his comment about set lingo.

C-47s are used often and yet why has such a arbitrary name for a clothes pin. Uncovering more, I found this blog post all about the “legend” of C-47s. There’s not a definite one but some of these versions sound so plausible they might be true. Every profession has it’s own lingo and short hand.

Onwards,
Nagle
