Nagle Notes: Critics

Hello people of the future,

Lots of “creative mediums” have critics. It’s helpful to have a group of people who are knowledgeable about a subject help educate the uninformed about what is what. But sometimes, you must go against the grain. Gemini Man has a 26% score on Rotten Tomatoes but an 83% from audiences. If you want a Mission Impossible genre with action scenes and a science fiction thriller, it is perfect. Yeah, not the greatest plot or character building but still a great film for a Saturday Night.

Sometimes critics are good and other times they only feed their own interest. Against The Rules Podcast has a whole episode about how art authenticators prop up the fine art industry. The 99% of us that have no idea want to have someone knowledgeable help us. But it can still be good to go with your gut.

Onwards,
Nagle
