Nagle Notes: Y'our and M'our

Hello people of the future,

The royal we or nosism changes the personal into a group – “We should take a nap” when you meant I am going to take a nap. But what do you use when you are describing a group decision where one of the parties is making it and the others are okaying it? This is where y’our and m’our come in (pronounced like power with a y or m start). “Y’our decision to bring Italian to the party was great”. The decision was made together, and blame is to be shared equally for the outcomes. It helps define who was the initiator and promoter of the idea. Having better words helps the lens we view the world through a little clearer.

Onwards,
Nagle
